Yoga for two is about doing poses (asanas) in direct contact with a partner, such as holding hands, joining feet or touching. You can practice with anyone: a friend, a partner, just a neighbour on the mat, the main thing is mutual consent. Allows you to significantly improve your flexibility. Strengthens interpersonal relationships, brings people closer together, as when performing asanas you need to trust the other person. Develops emotional intelligence, improves mood and relieves stress.
Welcome to ARISE, a spring-time "Yoga and Wellness" workshop with a focus on daily rituals that encourage healthy roots, supporting your growth & development.
Worksheets are provided with examples and space for you to write your ritual ideas that you can take forward in your day to day lives.
The yoga practice will be suitable for all - beginners welcome.
The workshop will close with a guided meditation and relaxation to integrate your morning. Herbal teas and light snacks will be provided.
As adults, learning to balance on our hands is much more challenging, both physically and psychologically. The handstand is a brain-body puzzle, & solving it can be a very rewarding process.
Matt will introduce the fundamental principles & give you the physical & psychological tools for your own practice, whether you’re already upside down, or a complete beginner with inverted aspirations.
Matt lives in Glasgow & teaches classes at Merchant City Yoga, where he also runs a handstand club.
